Prison of Dusk (7)

Jokyuu's soliloquy at the end of page 155 reminded me of the poem by John Donne.

No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as any manner of thy friends or of thine
own were; any man's death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom
the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

Back when Utah carried out executions by firing squad, the firing squad was made up of five volunteers, and one of the rifles was loaded with blanks.

The Daishikou (大司寇) heads the Ministry of Fall. The Shoushikou (小司寇) is his deputy.

Thank you again for the translation.
This is indeed a fascinating read.
It will be very interesting to see what the verdict will be
after the meeting with Shuudatsu.
I have no idea what to expect.
